SABINE PARISH SCHOOL BOARD AUCTION: PLAYGROUND EQUIPMENT
The following playground equipment is located at the Pre-School on Sabine High Street.
P1: This is a commercial playground structure manufactured by PlayWorld Systems. Similar units by PlayWorld Systems retail for about $20,000. This unit was installed in April 2016 and the Pre-School shut down in June 2016. It was used less than 3 months. It HAS been in the sun for a year, and the red (fiberglass?) slides show some color fading. Otherwise, this unit is like new. It is all metal except for the slides.
P2: This is a fiberglass (?) structure. Colors are faded from the sun. There is one place where the “dome” of the yellow slide is duck-taped to the uprights. See the 3rd photo below where Tom is touching the duck tape. Other than that, nothing is broken. It’s quite sturdy, ready for many more years of play.
P3: This is an older unit, but it is still quite sturdy, nothing broken or defective. It’s metal and fiberglass (?). The metal has a little surface rust, and the fiberglass is faded. Needs re-painting.
P4: This “school bus” on heavy duty springs is in very good condition. The floor is wood, the frame is metal, the steering wheels are fiberglass (?). As usual, that red fiberglass is a bit faded.
P5: This is a thing you throw balls into. It’s 3-sided. It’s in very good condition.
P6: A swing with metal frame, one swing with chains and rubber seat. It’s missing the second swing, but there are some additional rubber swing seats in the auction.
P7: : A swing with wood frame, two swings with chains and rubber seats.
P8: APS PLAYGROUND BORDER. This is a commercial playground border manufactured by Action Play Systems. Each piece is 8 inches high, 48” long. They easily connect together and have heavy stakes to secure them to the ground. These border pieces are heavy duty plastic, and resistant to mildew, water, rust, and heat. They look like new. These would make a great border for a garden. If you are interested in bidding on these, you should bring a tool to get the stakes out of the ground – probably a heavy-duty tire iron with a flat end to pry the border up.
MORE PLAYGROUND EQUIPMENT IS LOCATED AT THE OLD MANY ELEMENTARY SCHOOL ON MIDDLE CREEK ROAD. PHOTOS AND DESCRIPTIONS WILL BE ADDED SOON.
